This month Junior Infants are playing 'doctors' in the role-play corner, making 'Get Well Soon' cards in the art corner, building hospitals in the construction corner and incorporating emergency vehicles into the 'Small World area.

Winter Wonderland

Junior Infants are enjoying exploring polar regions in their drama corner, we have added Arctic animals to the Lego Duplo set and to Small World. For Junk art they had fun cutting and gluing paper to make 'melted snowmen'.

This month we changed our socio-dramatic corner into a doctors surgery, we set up a 'Water Play' area, a 'Peg Board' area and added a train set for the 'Small World' corner.

Fun Friends Wrap Party

Miss Moore's class completed their Fun Friends SPHE programme this week. To mark the occasion Miss Moore, Miss Hanrahan and Paulette organised a party. The children played cooperative games, had some healthy green treats, sausages and sweets. It was lots of fun!

Wasp Nest

Leon brought in a really cool wasp nest to show his class this week. To make these nests wasps chew up strips of tree bark and spit it out to form a rough paper.

This month Junior and Senior Infants have been having great fun exploring the Aistear theme of The Building Site. They played with diggers and trucks in the Sand Play area, they built wooden and plastic houses at the Construction table, they used paper and card to make houses at the Junk Art table and pretended to be architects, builders and interior designers at the Socio-dramatic area!

Book Sale

Thank you to 6th Class for organising a fantastic Book Sale. Money raised will be used to purchase new books for our class libraries. This event promotes reading and discussion about favourite authors among the children.

Easter Egg Hunt

Miss Moore's class had lots of fun searching for eggs last Friday.

Congratulations again to the children from our school who won this trophy at Limerick Choral Festival recently. They are members of the Murroe Junior Choir which is run by Marian Neville.

Maths Week

First class organised lots of fun maths games for Senior Infants. They explored the topics money, capacity, length, weight and time.

First class were set the challenge of making a floating plasticine boat that could carry as many peas (passengers!) as possible. It was a difficult task but all teams were successful in the end.

Autumn Fun with 1st Class!

Last week we went for a short walk down the road to study a horse-chestnut tree for our Geography lesson. We took some leaves and conkers that we found on the ground for our nature table.We decided to pick some juicy blackberries before returning to class.
