On Sunday 19th of April the Murroe AFC Under 11's played Galbally in Charleville. It was 1-0 to Galbally early on. With 30 seconds to go in the first half Nathan O'Shea grabbed an equaliser assisted by Brian O'Keeffe after some great build up play by me! In the beginning of the second half Galbally scored another goal making it 2-1. With four minutes to go Rischov Boevi got another equaliser which gave Murroe the oppurtunity but we couldn't find the net. In extra time top goal scorer Liam Quaid came off. In penalties Galbally scored 1 penalty out of 3 and Murroe scored 2 out of 2. A great end to a very exciting game!

After School Hurling Training
Killinure School has a long and proud tradition of sporting achievement.
Gaelic Games have always played an important part in the life of the school. Regular training takes place in school and in Boher pitch, and all children are encouraged to take part.
Throughout the years Killinure have won 7-a-side, 9-a-side and 11-a-side competitions in hurling, camogie, football and ladies football. In 2011, however, Killinure achieved at the highest level by winning the top competition (13-a-side A) in East Limerick beating schools more than twice our size.
Many past pupils have represented the county in hurling teams at various levels, including Senior level. The late Johnny Bartley had a huge part to play in developing Gaelic games in the school and parish over many years. All teachers now help with coaching teams every Monday in Boher Field.
Other sports which take place within the school include the following...
Children take part in athletics events during the Community Games held annually in the parish, and also in cross country running every year.
Soccer Blitz and Basketball tournaments for boys and girls takes place once a year.
Children from 1st to 6th Class have swimming lessons during Spring Term. These take place in University of Limerick and have been very successful over the last few years.
